National Sustainable Finance Roadmap
According to point 18 of Protocol No. 25 of the board meeting held on September 5, 2023, the Board of Central Bank of Armenia approved the “National Roadmap for Sustainable Finance in Armenia,” which highlights the CBA’s commitment to strategic sustainable development in the financial sector through four pillars: mobilize sustainable finance and funding, enhance markets, embed sustainable finance, build awareness and knowledge.
Mobilize sustainable finance and funding: Facilitate the flow of capital to industries and activities that are aligned with Armenia's low carbon ambitions in a risk-based, market-driven and sustainable manner.
Enhance Markets: Improve knowledge transfer, reduce information asymmetries, ensure market confidence and strengthen the enable beneficial environment for sustainable financing.
Embed Sustainable Finance: Guide financial sector participants in implementing ESG principles in their business decisions.
Build Awareness and Knowledge: Raise awareness of sustainability risks and opportunities in Armenia, build capacity within the CBA and among financial market participants.
