Concepts and definitions:  The definition of international reserve assets follows the methodology of the IMF's BPM6: gross international reserves comprise external assets that are readily available to and controlled by monetary authorities for meeting balance of payments financing needs, for intervention in exchange markets to affect the currency exchange rate, and for other purposes.
Scope and classifications: Data on official international reserves are compiled based on the balance sheet of the Central Bank of Armenia. International reserves are calculated on an accrual basis. International reserves are broken down by major components: monetary gold, SDRs, reserve position in the IMF, and foreign exchange.
Revision: Quarterly and annual data are preliminary and revised two and three months after first release, respectively.
