On September 11, Raiffeisen Bank International hosted the “Armenian Banking Day” event in Vienna, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the financial sectors of Armenia and Europe.

Mr. Johann Strobl, CEO of RBI, and CBA Governor Mr. M. Galstyan delivered opening remarks, highlighting the importance of continuous dialogue and partnership in the financial sector.

The agenda of the event also covered several other topics. The CBA  and the Union of Banks of Armenia presented the report titled “Regional Macroeconomic Outlook.” This was followed by discussions on the challenges of sustainable growth in Armenia, Raiffeisen Bank International’s experience with its financial sanctions compliance framework, and the economic outlook for Europe and Central and Eastern Europe, with particular attention to the stance of European banks towards the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

The main reports were followed by bilateral meetings between Armenian banks and RBI divisions.
