The Board of the CBA left the refinancing rate unchanged 5.00%
In its October 6, 2009 meeting the Board of CBA decided to leave Refinancing Rate of CBA unchanged, at a level of 5.00 percent.
In September of 2009 some 0.7 percent inflation was recorded, while the 12-month inflation reached 3.7 percent, growing by 0.2 pp.
The Board asserted that moderate inflationary pressures are being created in the external environment, depending on expectation of persisting growth trends in international prices of ore and minerals and certain food products. These developments, coupled with the stabilizing GDP, have made the domestic inflation environment to activate to a certain extent.
In anticipation of further rising in economic activity, the Board believes that the current level of the Refinancing Rate mostly contributes to the fast recovery of the economy, without detriment to price stability.
