The Central Bank of Armenia Joins the Global Financial Innovation Network (GFIN)
The Central Bank of Armenia has joined the Global Financial Innovation Network (GFIN) with the aim of strengthening regulatory capabilities and promoting innovative solutions in the financial sector through international cooperation.
GFIN is an international collaborative platform whose mission is to bring together financial sector regulators to facilitate the exchange of innovative knowledge and to develop effective supervisory approaches towards both traditional and emerging technologies used in financial services.
GFIN promotes financial inclusion and stability while fostering greater mutual understanding between innovative companies and regulatory bodies.
In this context, the CBA’s membership in GFIN provides several strategic opportunities:
- Promoting Innovation Without Regulatory Risks: The CBA will have the opportunity to participate in sandbox projects, evaluating the impact of new technologies and services in a controlled environment.
- Access to Global Expertise: Our specialists will benefit from the experience of leading global regulatory bodies, explore successful strategies, and assess their applicability to the Armenian market.
- Cross-border Coordination Platform: GFIN enables effective resolution of international challenges by fostering a consistent and harmonized regulatory environment.
- Resilience to Emerging Risks: The CBA will gain tools and mechanisms to prevent cyber threats, fraud, and data misuse before they evolve into systemic issues.
- Development of Regulatory Capabilities: GFIN regularly organizes seminars and discussions to help strengthen the professional skills of CBA staff, particularly in the fields of financial technologies and SupTech.
The CBA’s accession to GFIN is an important step toward deepening international cooperation and fostering the sustainable development of financial innovations. We are sure that this platform will open new opportunities for the advancement of the domestic financial market as well as the expansion of regional collaboration.
