What do you value at the CBA? I have long been working here, and throughout this period, I have always valued the people I work with. Here at the CBA, you are working with the experts in their fields, who constantly improve and develop to go along with the changing world and overcome the challenges to accomplish the CBA mission. Also, I value the environment of trust and respect. Another thing I do value here, is the environment of open dialogue and communication. You are always welcome to raise a concern, discuss something with your colleagues including the top management team. It has a positive impact on both the productivity and the work environment. |

What do you do? I work in the Monetary Policy Department, where I have been managing the development and implementation of the CBA’s new policymaking framework, known as FPAS Mark II. The new framework is the first of its kind—built upon a risk management approach to policymaking that more effectively deals with risk and uncertainty—with better long-term welfare outcomes for Armenia. How did you decide to work at the CBA? I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and spent several years working in strategy and economic consulting, with a focus on the real estate sector. After 2020, I felt a duty as an Armenian to move to Armenia through the iGorts fellowship and directly contribute to building a stronger and thriving Armenian state. The Central Bank of Armenia, as a world-class institution mandated to ensure price and financial stability, plays a singular role in promoting a more robust and sustainable economic future for Armenia. Considering my background, as well as my personal and career goals, the CBA was a perfect match. Tell about your career at the CBA. Since joining the CBA, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to several strategic, long-term projects across a number of different areas. I began in the Statistics Department, working on a number of projects on the Armenian real estate sector. I then served as Assistant to the Deputy Governor, where my work focused on an important long-term development vision of transforming Armenia into a digital society and economy. Since Fall 2022, I have been working in the Monetary Policy Department, primarily focused on the development and implementation of the CBA’s new FPAS Mark II monetary policy framework. |

What makes the CBA a great place to work? The CBA values the knowledge and skills you possess and the opinion you have. Moreover, it supports you on your way to become an expert. I would summarize this in one word: respect. It motivates and makes you exert your best effort to achieve better results. What opportunities does the CBA provide? As a participant of a Young Specialists Program, I have a unique opportunity to work in different units and on different projects each of which has a strategic importance for the CBA. This way you learn a lot, work with professionals and acquire invaluable experience and skills growing personally and professionally. |
