Knowledge, Experience, Impact: J-PAL Europe Autumn School in Dilijan
29.09.2026From September 23 to 25, the Central Bank of Armenia’s Dilijan Training and Research Center hosted an Autumn School training program for early-career researchers from Armenia, Europe, and Central Asia.
The program aimed to strengthen participants’ research capacities and deepen their knowledge of methods for evaluating the effectiveness of social policies and programs. Throughout the program, researchers affiliated with J-PAL delivered lectures, supported participants, and provided feedback on their research projects.
The program featured J-PAL Europe researchers Dilnovoz Abdurazzakova and Mariajose Silva-Vargas, as well as J-PAL affiliated researchers Christopher Palmer and Marc Gurgand, who presented their work on randomized controlled trials.
A key component of the Autumn School was its practical focus. Over the three days, participants presented their evaluation projects and received feedback from J-PAL experts and fellow participants. The program concluded with presentations of participants’ work, providing them with an opportunity to apply the methodological approaches discussed during the training to their ongoing research projects.
