International Reserves and Foreign Currency Liquidity (July) Back31/07/2011
Data template on International reserves and foreign currency liquidity was elaborated in the framework of Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) and aims to evaluate member countries’ foreign exchange position and liquidity. While reserve assets represent the monetary authorities’ claims on nonresidents, data template discloses data on authorities’ foreign currency claims on and obligations to both residents and nonresidents. It also covers inflows and outflows of foreign exchange over a future one-year period. Data template is based on both on- and off-balance-sheet activities of the Central Bank and Government external drains.
Data template on International reserves and foreign currency liquidity has four sections, which are presented in separate tables. Section I covers information on the authorities’ foreign currency resources, Section II and III consider data on predetermined and contingent drains on foreign currency resources in the short term (outflows and inflows), and Section IV specifies the memo items on which supplementary information is needed.
