The Financial Monitoring Center (FMC) is the official name of the Financial Intelligence Unit of Armenia. The FMC is responsible for organizing anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism efforts and for these purposes the FMC is charged with collecting, analyzing, exchanging and transmitting information defined by law.
The FMC is a structural division of the Central Bank of Armenia and is accountable to the to the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia.
The FMC has been established in compliance with the Law “Against laundering of illicit proceeds and terrorism financing” adopted on 14 December 2004.
The main directions and goals of the FMC activities are defined by the FMC 3 year strategy .
The FMC structure and powers are defined by the FMC statute.
