AQUARIUS
This silver commemorative coin depicting Aquarius has been issued by the Central Bank of
Armenia under the International Program "The Signs of Zodiac".
Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac situated between Capricorn and Pisces. The word
is translated from Latin as water or cup bearer. It is usually depicted as a man with a bucket from
which a stream is pouring. The best-known myth identifies Aquarius with Ganymede, a beautiful youth
with whom Zeus fell in love and in the disguise of an eagle carried off to the mountain Olympus to
be a cup bearer to the gods.
The astrological period called Aquarius takes the period from January 20 to February 18.
